Abstract
Trajectories and capture of particles are observed in single sphere HGMS experiments in paramagnetic and diamagnetic modes of motion in order to test the computed predictions of particle behavior resulting from the potential and laminar flow models. The laminar flow model is found in excellent agreement with physical reality while the potential flow model deviates quite considerably in certain cases. The critical entry coordinate, calculated on the basis of the laminar flow model as a function of
