Abstract
A coupled finite element-boundary element method is applied to three-dimensional eddy-current problems. The magnetic vector potential A and scalar potential φ are adopted for the formulation. The finite element method is used in the conducting region, while the boundary element method is used in the exterior vacant region. A symmetric linking method is chosen for the coupling procedure. The calculations show good agreement with analytical results and results obtained by other numerical methods
