Abstract :
A simple magnetic transition model is proposed for perpendicular recording with a single-pole head. It has been found that the amplitude of the transitions is proportional to the coercivity Hcof the recording medium and is independent of the saturation magnetization Msif M_{s} g\\sim (3/4\\pi) H_{c} . Experimental proof using Co-Cr sputtered films is also given.
