Abstract :
High uniformity magnetic field in a large volume is required in many applications. In this paper we show that uniform magnetic field can be generated over the entire interior region of circular dipoles. The current distribution to obtain zero field in the interior region of circular dipoles, exposed to external uniform field, is first determined and it is the same current distribution required to generate internal uniform field. The current distribution for round, elliptical and rectangular cross section dipoles is determined for both the case of having zero field and having uniform field. Toroidal coordinates are used throughout the analysis.
