Abstract
Current distributions and magnetic fields in polyphase ac apparatus are calculated using the finite element method. Steady-state eddy currents and power losses are determined in the structural steel members of an electric arc furnace. Current distributions in two different three-phase bus bar systems are calculated and compared with previous calculations and measurements.
