  • Abstract
    The polarisation holding ability of high birefringence fibres wound into small coils is investigated. For coil diameters below 3 cm¿4 cm, the polarisation holding degrades very quickly with decreasing diameter. The crosscoupling is thought to be due to microbending effects.
