Simple clock extraction circuit using a self sustaining monostable multivibrator output signal

A novel and simple clock extraction circuit is described. It is based on feedback around a monostable multivibrator resulting in a self sustaining clock signal. The method is suitable for application in systems which do not require the clock perfectly synchronised to the data. The circuit comprises three standard IC gates plus two delay units.
