Abstract :
This work describes a specific overflow behaviour encountered when working with redundant binary numbers, possibly yielding wrong results. This peculiarity is not encountered in conventional number systems and, to the knowledge of the authors, has not been published in the open literature. To avoid these unnecessary overflows, simple correction schemes are presented.
