Abstract :
UV written holographic gratings in hydrogenated GeO2-SiO2 planar waveguides which have given a reflectivity of 13 dB at 1555 nm with a bandwidth of 0.6 nm are reported. The index modulation within the gratings was calculated to be 5*10-4. In addition the waveguides are low loss from 1300 to 1600 nm.
