Abstract
Three-dimensional infrared (IR) emissions in address period were experimentally investigated using a 6-in 3-D plasma display panel. Depending upon various driving conditions, two address discharge modes were observed: single-tail mode and double-tail mode (DTM). The DTM should be avoided because it may result in the discharge failure of the addressed cells. Based on the 3-D images of the IR emissions in the address period, the wall charge distributions on the Y and A electrodes after two address discharge modes were estimated. In addition, the minimum sustain and address voltages (Vs and Va) were measured to compare the voltage margins between the two modes.
