Abstract :
The amorphous Fe4Co66V2Si8B20alloy ribbons are prepared by a one-roller quenching technique in 5-50 mm wide and 20- 50 μm thick. The optimum properties obtained by annealing are shown as follows: a saturation induction of 7000G, a coercive force of 0.004 Oe, an initial D.C permeability of 120000, a Curie temperature of 315°C, a maximum D.C permeability of 1070000, a Vickers hardness of 965, a crystallization temperature of 533°c, a specific resistivity of 126 μΩ-cm. It has been shown that the fall-off of the permeability with frequency at used range is less and the stability of the magnetic properties is good enough after aging at 55°C for 300 h. The properties of a magnetic head made from the present alloy are reported.
