  • Abstract
    An efficient method for the simulation of axis-symmetric antennas is proposed. The method considerably reduces the computer computational running time for such antennas. The method considers the symmetry of the structure in the azimuthal direction, and takes a very small sector (e.g., 50) of the structure. The proposed method is quite useful when optimization methods, along with full-wave software packages, are used to solve an antenna problem. Of the various packages available, the method is most suited to the Finite-Element package HFSS. To prove the effectiveness and efficiency of this method, application to two designed antennas are presented. The results of simulation and measurement are presented and discussed.
