Abstract :
The hybrid finite-element-boundary-element method is used to solve for the electromagnetic fields in and around waveguides. The method is shown to be well adapted for the solution of these problems. Finite elements are used to represent the waveguide, source structure, and region surrounding the waveguide. The boundary-element method is used to represent the exterior region and can be used to find the far field. An implementation using second-order elements is used to study a specific case
