Abstract :
This paper presents the application of the finite element method for analyzing magnetic fields and predicting the performance of induction motors. Saturable magnetizing and leakage reactances are calculated using magnetostatic analysis. Locked rotor performance is predicted using eddy current diffusion analysis. Correlation with test data is also presented.
