Abstract :
An explicit formula is derived for the change of input impedance of a vertical electric dipole as a function of the distance of the dipole to a horizontal boundary with a prescribed surface impedance n . It is shown that, if n \\ll 120\\pi , the result is consistent with the formula obtained by the compensation-theorem approach.
