Abstract
The authors show how to take into account movement in a finite-element formulation for the calculation of electromagnetic fields. The coupling of the finite-element method with Trefftz-type methods is used to treat this problem. Numerical results are given for a machine of simple structure. The results are compared with those of a classical finite-element model. The hybrid method is used to calculate the electromotive force of a 2 kVA permanent magnet synchronous machine, and the results are compared with experimental results
