Abstract :
This paper presents the results of the tests performed by the Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC) for determining cross-polarization discrimination of some consumer-grade UHF TV antennas that are available on the market. The test conditions were selected to resemble the situation when a UD (Unlicensed Device) transmitting antenna is operational in the vicinity of a TV receiving antenna. The results of this experiment will be helpful in evaluating the effectiveness of cross-polarization discrimination when it is used as a way of mitigating the interference effects from UD radiation onto DTV reception.
