Abstract :
The correlation between AI,N contents and the magnetic properties of Si-steel was shown in present work. The behaviour of N in Si-steel containing Al was described. An attempt was made to find out the characteristics of processing grain oriented Si-steel by using AIN as main inhibitor. It is well known that MnS is used as inhibitor in early procedure of grain oriented Si-steel[1], and the complex inhibitors of MnS+AlN are now used in producing HI-B[2]. Besides these, the boundary segregation elements, such as Sb, Se[3] or B, N, S[4]and others, also were used as inhibitors. We have studied the possibility of improving the processing of Si-steel by using special character of AlN[5,6]. The results showed: 1) Certain amount of inhibitor is necessary in order to obtain perfect secondary recrystallized textures. 2)The size and amount of inhibitors are more important rather than the type of the inhibitors. 3) The role of Al in Si-steel containing N is to form AlN as inhibitor. Apparently, the N content affects the properties of products greatly. The optimum range of Al, N contents and the behaviour of AlN during processing were studied in present work.
