Abstract
The authors investigate metal-metal friction phenomena between ferromagnetic materials under magnetic attraction. In this paper, experimental results of magnetic friction phenomena are compared with Coulomb´s friction. It was found out that the frictional coefficient increases remarkably under magnetic attraction and it is possible to control its value by means of an electrical signal. Such results suggest the need for a new theory describing frictional phenomena under magnetic attraction.
