Abstract :
A 3-m diameter, 5 m long superconducting thin solenoid with indirect cooling and an external support cylinder has been designed for the Fermilab Collider Detector Facility. An aluminum stabilized Nb-Ti superconductor produced by the extrusion with front tension (EFT) method is used. Radiation length for the solenoid is .831, and absorption length is .186.
