Abstract
This letter develops Bonferroni-type lower and upper bounds of the bit-error-rate (BER) performance for the optimal multiuser detector of code-division multiple access (CDMA) systems with nonuniform signalling. The bounds are shown to be very tight for all signal-to-noise ratios. The bounds are also tighter than the Verdu´s bounds of the maximum-likelihood (ML) multiuser detector for the case of uniform signalling.
