  • Abstract
    A correction is given to the above mentioned paper (ibid., vol.COM-32, p.1157-9, Oct. 1984). It is shown that although the algorithm with these corrections is optimal when there is no maximum-word-length constraint, it does not always lead to an optimal code when a maximum-word-length constraint is imposed.<>
