Abstract :
A highly compact coaxial feed with good pattern symmetry and a crosspolar level maximum of ¿22 dB has been realised. Pattern symmetry is obtained by a circular plate of suitable diameter surrounding the coaxial feed aperture. The feed is successfully used in the prime focus (f/D=0.35) of an array of 25 m radio telescopes at 327 MHz.
