Abstract
The superconducting winding of the model rotor has been tested in rotation at different speeds. Junctions and current leads have been studied in steady state (up to rated current 5000 A), the hottest point of the winding being 6.2 K. This has been possible thanks to a minicomputer which enables to monitor several temperature sensors in the critical parts of the windings. The thermal behaviour of the coil has been tested during fast phenomena such as quenches (training) and pulses of current up to 25000 A/s thanks to a magnetic tape associated to the minicomputer.
