Abstract
We describe a model for estimating the count rate, geometric factor, and gathering power for a particle telescope in an anisotropic space particle radiation field. The model can be used to estimate the response of many detector designs, in particular their sensitivity to anisotropy in the ambient field. The model is implemented within a comprehensive tool for modeling space environment effects on spacecraft and space systems.
