  • Abstract
If you are an IBM System/360 or 370 programmer and haven´t yet learned to decipher abends (abnormal termination dumps) but find IBM manuals on the subject incomprehensible, this book is for you. The author has developed it from lecture notes generated in teaching the subject to over 400 students since 1972 through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School in Washington, D.C. The book is printed on 81/2 X 11-inch pages and contains computer generated printouts and dumps that are altogether clear and legible. These printouts and dumps, taken from real computer runs, are indexed and annotated and used as illustrative examples for the concepts discussed in the text. This technique makes for economy of words as well as easy reference.
