Abstract :
This book (by the author whom old timers will fondly recognize as the author of that excellent, widely received early book entitled Logical Design of Digital Computers, John-Wiley, 1958) is a product of five years of research in computer business and is an outcome of a course* on the same subject that he taught at Harvard University during 1974. It is a quantitative, comprehensive study of the development, production, distribution, use, and cost of data processing equipment and services.
