Abstract :
The effect of symmetrically loading a horn aperture with E -plane dielectric slabs is examined both theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that aperture efficiencies of the order of 92-96 percent may be obtained easily and inexpensively. The technique, which was demonstrated experimentally for a small horn aperture, might find application in limited scan arrays.
