Abstract
This paper presents the Finite Element formulation of a nonlinear TE-mode eddy current problem. The solution of the resulting complex matrix equation uses the Bi-Conjugate Gradient method preconditioned with a partial LU factorization. The numerical problem is characterized by an asymmetric matrix having complex coefficients. It is shown that the preconditioned BCG method efficiently solves this class of problem. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the advantages of the solution method.
