Hewlett-Packard claims a new high in ruggedness, based on more than three machine-years of life testing prior to production introduction, for its new dot-matrix, 400-lpm line printer. The printer uses a virtually frictionless print mechanism under the control of a microprocessor that provides self-diagnostics, improves operating speed, and makes possible a variety of character and graphic print modes.
