Abstract
The paper illustrates a two dimensional, finite element analysis of a three-phase induction motor with smooth solid-iron rotor under voltage-forced operation. In order to take saturation completely into account, each steady-state operating point is calculated as the asymptotic solution of the electro-magnetic field equation for a fixed constant speed. The study is supported by experimental results.
