Abstract
In this paper a model for eddy current calculation in saturated electric machines is given. The diffusion equation is solved with the finite element method, accounting for saturation, in a dynamic rotating model. According to this aim an air-gap macro element is introduced in the general finite element method. A numerical example is given for a simple structure of a rotating machine. Calculations have been done for both cases of stationary and rotating machine.
