Abstract
A numerical method is described for computing eddy currents in thin conductors arbitrarily shaped and placed in a source harmonic field. The magnetic scalar potential is used to represent eddy currents and a set of integro-differential equations is solved using the finite element method. Eddy currents in a thin cylinder are calculated to test the method. Finally the method is used for rectangular conducting plates.
