  • Abstract
    Using a distributed trio of microcomputer systems, the Army Corps of Engineers operates the entire Jones Bluff hydroelectric project on the Alabama River from the control room of another river project at Millers Ferry, some 90 miles away. This is the first application of microcomputers for direct control of both the water flow and power generation in a major hydroelectric power system, according to the designers, Progress Electronics of Oregon.
