نقد امري طبيعي و انساني است و از ميل انسان به آزادي نشئت مي گيرد. فكر همان حركت ذهني از مبدأ كاري به ‌سوي نتيجه و برعكس آن است و خودِ همين سبب مي‌شود كه راه رفته يا عمل انجام ‌شده ارزيابي شود. در ادوار گذشته، همۀ متفكران كار نقد انجام مي‌ دادند و همين كار موجب پيشرفت و رشد دانش شده است. خودانتقادي در حوزه هاي ديني و عرفاني هم جايگاه مهمي داشته است. درعين ‌حال، تفكر انتقادي پديده ‌اي جديد است كه به ‌دنبال جزم گرايي در غرب و به ‌طور ويژه پس‌از ماركسيسم رخ داد. آن چه در نقد مهم است اين است كه بايد منتقد به مباني تفكر نويسنده واقف باشد و نيز زمينه هاي فكري جامعه اي را كه نويسنده در آن زندگي مي كند بشناسد تا بتواند نقاد خوبي باشد. مكتب فرانكفورت درزمينۀ تفكر انتقادي مبتكر و صاحب نظر است و نويسندگان مشهور اين حوزه صاحب نظران در اين مكتب بوده اند. تفكر انتقادي بيش تر به نقادي دروني براساس اهدافي كه متن يا مؤسسه دارد تكيه مي كند. پيش فرض در نقادي هم بسيار مهم است. درمجموع، نقد معيار و معيار نقد دو شاخص عمده براي نقادي درست است.

In the past, all the scholars have tried to criticize and it caused knowledge to develop and promote. Self-criticism in religious and mystic domains has had a high position. Anyway, Critical Thinking is a new phenomenon which appeared after Dogmatism in the West, especially after Marxism. What is important in criticism is that the critic must be familiar with the thinking principles of the writer, and also, he should discover the thinking domains of the society where the author lives so that he can be a good critic. Frankfurt School is well-known in the field of Critical Thinking, and most of the authors in this field were belonged to this school. In Critical Thinking, the most emphasis is on the internal criticism based on the objectives of the text or the institute. Presupposition is also very important. As a result, the criticism of standard and standard of criticism are two main criteria for critique.
