An Evaluation of the Epistemological Bases of Cultural Relativism, with an Emphasis on the Theory of Nature (Or Innate disposition)

نسبيت فرهنگي يكي از رايج ترين لوازم نسبيت گروي در معرفت شناسي شمرده مي شود. بر اساس نسبيت فرهنگي، ارزش يك عنصر فرهنگي تنها در زمينه فرهنگي خاص قابل درك است. سه تقرير عمده از نسبيت وجود دارد : نسبيت مفهومي، نسبيت اعتقادي و نسبيت ارزشي- هنجاري. با تكيه بر معرفت شناسي و انسان شناسي فطري مي توان به ارزيابي تقريرات نسبيت پرداخت. تقريرات نسبيت از مباني نادرست معرفت شناختي در باب صدق نظير شكاكيت يا انسجام و... تغذيه مي شوند و به خطاي روش شناختي مبني بر خَلط نگاه توصيفي جامعه شناختي با نگاه تحليلي فلسفي دچارند. با تكيه بر فطرت هم مي توان از نوعي مبناگروي معرفتي مبتني بر بديهيات در حوزه معرفت دفاع كرد كه تئوري مطابقت را ملاك صدق ميداند و از نوعي واقع گرايي حمايت مي كند و هم مي توان از نوعي مبناگروي اخلاقي مبتني بر بديهيات در حوزه اخلاق دفاع نمود كه به شيوه معقولي مشتركات معرفتي- اخلاقي جوامع و فرهنگ هاي گوناگون را توجيه و تبيين مي كند. تداوم تاريخي و گسترش جغرافيايي عناصر جهان شمول فرهنگي چون حقيقت، معنويت، عدالت و آزادي فارغ از اشكال گوناگونش با محوريت فطرت انساني، زمينه وفاق و همبستگي جوامع بشري را ميسر ساخته، نسبيت فرهنگي را به چالش مي كشد

One of the most common consequences of relativism in epistemology is relativity of culture. According to this theory, the value of one cultural parameter is only understandable in one special cultural field. There are three main accounts for relativism: conceptual relativism, ideological relativism and value-normative relativism. The different accounts of relativism can be evaluated through natural (or innate) epistemology and anthropology. The accounts of relativism have incorrect epistemological bases in the subject of truth such as skepticism or coherency or… and have a methodological mistake based on the confusion of the sociological descriptive view and the philosophical analytical view. Emphasizing on nature, both the cognitive foundationalism which is based on self-evident truths in cognition can be defended – which says the criterion of truth is correspondence and defends a kind of realism – and a kind of ethical foundationalism which is based on the self-evident statements of ethics can be defended which rationally justifies and explains the cognitive-ethical common traits of societies and the different cultures. Some of the factors which prepare the situation for the concordance of human societies and challenges cultural relativism are historical continuity and geographical expansion of the universal cultural parameters such as truth, spirituality, justice and freedom, regardless of their different forms based on human nature.
