توسعه فناوري اطلاعات و ارتباطات تاثير زيادي در زندگي انسان گذاشته است. دامنه اين توسعه، در آينده، مجموعه اي از تهديدها و فرصت ها به همراه خواهد داشت كه براي مواجهه فعال با آن بايد آن را شناخت و آماده شد. آواتاريسم، پديده نوظهوري است كه رشد و گسترش آن از كشف روشي نوين براي پركردن خلا هاي ارتباطي انساني منشا ميگيرد. اين پژوهش با تمركز بر روشي جديد در آينده پژوهي باعنوان «تحليل لايه اي علت ها»، درصدد تجزيهوتحليل علل آواتاريسم است؛ بنابراين بااستفاده از «روش دلفي» نسبت به هم گرايي ديدگاه هاي 16 نفر از خبرگان تحقيق اقدام شده است. مطابق نتايج پژوهش در آشكارترين سطح علي، عناصري نظير رشد فناوري، تنوع طلبي و سرگرم سازي، شكل گيري اين پديده را توجيه مي كند. در لايه بالاتر، عناصري اساسي تر نظير تمركز بر نيازهاي اشباع نشده بشري به علت نياز به ارتباط و تعامل و جذابيت هاي اقتصادي و اجتماعي تاثيرگذار بوده اند. در لايه سوم كه عوامل بنيادي آواتاريسم را مطرح مي كند ملاحظه مي شود كه فلسفه شكل گيري اين پديده در تفكر انسان محوري و تلاش براي تقليل گرايي نظام هستي صرفاً در چارچوب توانمندي هاي انسان، ريشه دارد، ضمن اينكه تفكر غالب در پيدايش اين رويكرد تمايل به قهرمان سازي است.
