چكيده فارسي :
يكي از نيروهاي سياسي تأثيرگذار در ايران معاصر، نيروي سياسي توده‌هاست كه در مقاطع مختلف تاريخ ايران از پيش از مشروطه تا نهضت ملي شدن صنعت نفت و انقلاب اسلامي ايران توانسته نقشي سازنده را ايفا كند. ازآنجا كه در ايران هرگز احزاب پايداري شكل نگرفته‌اند، جاي خالي آنها در تعاملات سياسي به‌طور معمول با حركت‌هاي تودة مردم پر مي‌شده است. اما ويژگي‌هاي توده‌ها با ديگر نيروهاي سياسي و حتي با افراد تشكيل‌دهندة تجمعات توده‌اي، متفاوت است و شناخت كنش‌ها و واكنش‌هاي سياسي توده‌ها مطالعات تاريخي مفصلي را مي‌طلبد. در اين پژوهش ضمن كاوش در مباني نظري حركت‌هاي سياسي توده‌ها، با بازخواني و تحليل مقاطع مهمي از تاريخ معاصر كه در آن توده‌هاي مردم حركت‌هاي سياسي انجام داده‌اند، تلاش شده است كه ويژگي‌هاي اين حركت‌ها و نيروهاي بسيج‌كنندة توده‌ها و نيز حركت‌هاي توده‌اي متقابل مطالعه شود. در پايان، با مطالعة اصول حاكم بر حركت‌هاي توده‌ها نتيجه‌گيري مي‌شود كه در مقاطع مختلف تاريخ ايران، نيروهاي سياسي گوناگون قادر به بسيج توده‌ها بوده‌اند، ولي در مجموع، مي‌توان ادعا كرد كه موفق‌ترين شبكه‌اي كه توانسته توده‌ها را به‌خوبي و با تداوم بسيج كند و از نيروي سياسي آنان بهره ببرد، شبكة روحانيت دست در دست شبكة بازاريان و اصناف بوده است.
چكيده لاتين :
In different periods of Iranian contemporary history from the Constitutional Revolution till the Oil Nationlisation Movement and the Islamic Revolution, masses of people have been one of most effective political forces that played a constructive role in Iranian politics. Since there were no stable political parties in Iran, a gap of a systematic opposition was felt, and this gap has been filled by masses in different occasions. But the character of masses is different from both the individual participants and other political forces, and therefore, understanding actions and reactions of masses need in-depth historical studies. In this research paper beside theoretical discussions, features of masses and the mobilizing powers behind them as well as counter-masses movements have been studied. In sum, it could be argued that although in Iranian contemporary history a few political forces have shown a good ability in mass mobilisation, the clerics, hand in hand with merchants and guilds, have shown the most successful mobilizing power
