بررسي وضعيت انتشار مقاله از پايان‌نامه‌هاي دفاع شده در دانشكده پزشكي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي رفسنجان در فاصله سال‌هاي 1386-1372

A Survey on the Status of Article Publication from Defended Medical Theses in Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences, School of Medicine During 1993-2007

زمينه و هدف: پايان‌نامه به منزله فعاليتي پژوهشي و به عنوان آخرين بخش دوره دكتري حرفه‌اي پزشكي، از نظر توليد علم و تكنولوژي بسيار با اهميت است. بنابراين، هدف از انجام اين بررسي، تعيين درصد انتشار پايان‌نامه‌هاي دفاع شده در دانشكده پزشكي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي رفسنجان در فاصله سال‌هاي 1386-1372 در مجلات علمي- پژوهشي مي‌باشد. مواد و روش‌ها: در اين مطالعه پيگير ( Follow up ) با روش سرشماري، تعداد 502 پايان‌نامه دفاع شده مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. ابتدا اطلاعات هر پايان‌نامه در فرم جمع‌آوري اطلاعات ثبت شد و سپس براي تعيين سرنوشت پايان‌نامه، تعدادي پايگاه‌هاي داده داخلي و خارجي مورد جستجو قرار گرفت. داده‌ها با استفاده از روش‌هاي آمار توصيفي و تحليلي (آزمون‌هاي مجذور كاي، t و همبستگي) مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفتند . يافته‌ها: از تعداد 502 پايان‌نامه دفاع شده، 106مورد (1/21%) در مجلات علمي تحت داوري همتايان منتشر و در پايگاه‌هاي علمي قابل جستجو نمايه شده بودند. در مجموع در 13 دپارتمان علوم پايه و باليني، به ترتيب 111 پايان‌نامه (1/22%) و 391 پايان‌نامه (9/77%) انجام شده بود. به 359 پايان‌نامه (5/71%) نمره‌اي بين 20-19 تعلق گرفته بود؛ اما پايان‌نامه‌هايي كه در سال‌هاي اخير دفاع شده بودند در مقايسه با پايان‌نامه‌هاي قديمي‌تر از نمره بهتري برخوردار بودند. ميانگين فاصله زماني بين سال دفاع و سال انتشار مقاله برابر با 31/2 ± 9/2 سال بود. نتيجه‌گيري: نتايج اين مطالعه نشان داد اگرچه نسبت مقالات منتشر شده از پايان‌نامه‌هاي دوره پزشكي عمومي در دانشكده پزشكي رفسنجان، وضعيت خيلي نامطلوبي ندارد اما تا وضعيت ايده‌آل هنوز فاصله زيادي دارد. رفع مشكلات پژوهشي اعضاي هيأت علمي باليني و استفاده از اساتيد علوم پايه در راهنمايي پايان‌نامه‌هاي باليني مي‌تواند راهكار مناسبي براي بهبود وضعيت انتشار اين پايان‌نامه‌ها با

Background and Objectives: Thesis as a research activity and also the final part of the curriculum of medical students may be a vital source for the production of science and technology. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the percentage of students' theses approved for the MD degree in Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences (RUMS) that published in the peer-reviewed Journals between 1993-2007. Materials and Methods: In this Follow up study, all 502 defended theses in Rafsanjan School of Medicine were investigated. The data were firstly collected in the designed checklists. The Iranian and international databases were then searched to determine how many of these theses had been published. Data were analyed by descriptive statistics and analytical (χ2, t student and correlation) methods. Results: Out of 502 theses, 106 cases (21.1%) had been published in peer-reviewed journals and indexed in the searchable databases . In all 13 departments of basic and clinical sciences , 111 ( 22.1%) and 391 theses ( 77.9%) were fulfilled, respectively . Three hundred and fifty nine theses (71.5%) had obtained a score between 19 and 20 (out of 20). Theses performed in the recent years had obtained higher scored than the older ones . The mean time between the defense time of the theses and their publications was 2.9 ± 2.31 years . Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the proportion of published articles extracted from theses was relatively satisfactory but far from the ideal condition . Resolving research problems of clinical academic members as well as for clinical theses , receiving professional supervision or consultation from professors of departments of basic sciences is suggested to improve the publication rates.
