An overview on the molecular basis of anticancer effects of Rosa canina bioactive ingredients

نسترن كوهي با نام علميRosa canina ، گياهي دارويي، درختچه اي و چند ساله متعلق به خانواده ي گل سرخيان بوده و مناطق گسترش آن بخش هاي مختلفي از اروپا، آسيا، آمريكا و همچنين غرب و شمال غرب ايران مي باشد. تركيبات دارويي متفاوت موجود در قسمت­ هاي مختلف اين گياه به خصوص ميوه­ ها و دانه ­ها، آن را به عنوان يك گياه دارويي مهم مطرح كرده است. اين گياه به داشتن ويتامين C، خواص آنتي اكسيداني و ضد التهابي مشهور مي باشد و در درمان بيماري هاي مختلفي از جمله التهاب هاي مفصلي كاربرد دارد. تحقيقات، وجود تركيبات زيست فعال بسياري را علاوه بر ويتامين C تاييد كرده است كه از جمله‌ي آن­ ها مي­ توان به تري‌ترپن اسيدها، اسيدهاي چرب، كاروتنوئيدها ، فلاونوئيدها و فيتواسترول‌ها اشاره كرد. عصاره ي اين گياه و تركيبات زيست فعال آن خواص ضد سرطاني نشان مي ­دهند، به طوري كه از رشد سلول هاي سرطاني و گسترش آن­ ها به ساير نقاط جلوگيري مي­ كنند. آن­ ها روي بيان ژن‌ها و مسيرهاي پيام رساني دخيل در سرطان اثر تعديلي دارند. از طرف ديگر روي عملكرد انكوژن‌ها و فرايند التهاب اثر ممانعتي داشته و با مهار متاستاز بخصوص با تاثيري كه روي رگ‌زايي دارند، از گسترش سرطان به ساير بافت‌ها جلوگيري مي‌كنند. تركيبات مذكور روي ژن‌هاي سركوبگر توموري، نقاط كنترل چرخه‌ي سلولي اثر مثبت داشته و مرگ برنامه ‌ريزي شده‌ي سلولي را در سلول هاي سرطاني تحريك مي­ كنند. در اين مطالعه با جستجو در پايگاه­ هاي داده هاي اسكوپوس، پابمد و گوگل اسكولار به بررسي خواص ضد سرطاني گياه نسترن كوهي در سطح مولكولي پرداخته شده است.

Doge rose with scientific name Rosa canina is a medicinal plant, shrub and perennial related to Rosaceae family. Its origin is different regions of Europe, Asia, and America and as well as north and northwest of Iran. There are several medicinal ingredients in different parts of this plant especially in its hips and seeds which introduced it as one of the important medicinal plants. This plant is famous for having vitamin C, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and is used for curing various illnesses such as joint inflammation. Different researches were conducted on Rosa canina confirmed the presence of several bioactive ingredients other than vitamin C. The most important of them are triterpene acids, fatty acids, Galactolipids, Flavonoids and Phytosterols. Extract of this plant and its bioactive ingredients exhibit anticancer properties so that inhibit growths and extension of cancerous cells to other areas. They have a modulating effect on expression of genes and signaling pathways involved in cancer. On the other hand, they have inhibitory effects on function of oncogenes and inflammation processes and block migration of tumor cells to other tissues by inhibition of metastasis especially with antiangiogenic activities. The mentioned ingredients have positive effects on tumor suppressor genes, cell cycle checkpoints, immune system and stimulate programmed cell death in cancer cells. In this review we searched three bibliographic databases, PubMed, Google scholar and Scopus, to evaluate the anticancer properties of Rosa canina at the molecular level.
