چكيده فارسي :
حرمت تصويرگري جانداران، موجب اعتلاي هندسه ‌‌اسلامي گرديد؛ زماني كه تصويرسازي قرون‌وسطي به باروك منتهي مي‌شد، هنر اسلامي به نقش‌ونگارهاي آيينه‌كاري‌ها سوق پيدا مي‌كرد. امتزاج آيينه‌كاري با نقوش هندسي و مشبك پنجره‌ها، روزن‌ها و درب‌ها باعث نمي‌شد بيننده از وراي آن‌ها به جهان بي‌روح، هندسي نگاه بيندازد، بلكه همان جهاني بود كه در نگاه عارفانه شرقي، تجلي حضور مالامال و معطر يزدان بود. نگاه معناشناختي به اين اشكال را مي‌توان فلسفه مستتر در نهان و نهاد هندسه دانست كه غير از هندسه ‌ايراني-اسلامي كمتر سراغي از آن را مي‌شود در هنر ساير نقاط جهان يافت. اين جستار تلاش دارد با روش توصيفي-تحليلي و مطالعات كتابخانه‌اي، به شناسايي رموز به‌كاررفته در نقش هندسي ستاره هشت‌پري بپردازد كه در نگاره‌هايي از شاهنامه‌ 602W موزه هنر والترز به‌‌عنوان سلاح و سپر رزم‌آوران ديده مي‌شود. فارغ از كاركرد نظامي ستاره هشت‌پر، اين نماد در هندسه اسلامي داراي مفهوم معنوي بوده و نماد يادشده، جداي از كاركرد فيزيكي خود به‌عنوان سلاحي كه از نور بهره مي‌گرفت، در هندسه ‌اسلامي تلاشي براي بُعددِهي به انوار ساطعه خورشيد حقيقت و تكاپويي براي انجماد انوار فرّار زمان و غلبه بر گذار آن نيز بوده است. خورشيدي كه در انديشه اسلامي، هم‌قرينگي ماوراءطبيعي با حقيقت ازلي داشته و دارد.
