The Role of Attitude and Resiliency in Predicting the Quality of Life of Parents of Children with Special Needs

زمينه و هدف: كيفيت زندگي والدين كودكان با نيازهاي ويژه و عوامل موثر بر آن موضوع مهمي است كه نيازمند بررسي و مطالعه دقيق است. متغيرها و عوامل متعددي در پژوهش­ هاي مختلف در تبيين كيفيت زندگي اين والدين مورد آزمايش قرار گرفتند اما مطالعه حاضر با هدف بررسي رابطه نگرش و تاب­آوري با كيفيت زندگي والدين كودكان با نيازهاي ويژه انجام شده است. روش­: مطالعه­ حاضر توصيفي و از نوع همبستگي است. جامعه­ آماري شامل تمامي والدين كودكان با نيازهاي­ ويژه شهرستان رشت در سال 95-1394 بود كه از بين آنها 110والد (55 مادر و 55 پدر) به روش نمونه ­گيري در دسترس انتخاب شدند. براي جمع ­آوري داده­ ها از پرسشنامه نگرش والدين نسبت به فرزند با نيازهاي ويژه­ (گوندر، 2002)، مقياس تاب­آوري (كانر و ديويدسون، 2003) و پرسشنامه كيفيت زندگي سازمان سلامت جهاني- فرم كوتاه (1996) استفاده شد. داده­ها با روش همبستگي پيرسون و رگرسيون چندگانه گام به گام تحليل شدند. يافته­ ها: نتايج مطالعه حاضر نشان مي ­دهند نگرش و تاب ­آوري والدين كودكان با نياز­هاي ويژه با كيفيت زندگي­ شان همبستگي معناداري دارند و نگرش (0/30-=β) و تاب­آوري (0/47=β) به صورت معناداري مي­تواند كيفيت زندگي والدين كودكان با نيازهاي ويژه را پيش­بيني كند (0/001 >p). نتيجه­ گيري: بر اساس نتايج پژوهش حاضر، نگرش و تاب­آوري عواملي موثر در كيفيت زندگي والدين كودكان با نيازهاي ويژه هستند. استلزام­ هاي نتيجه به دست آمده در مقاله مورد بحث قرار گرفته است.

Background and Purpose: The quality of life of parents of children with special needs and the factors affecting it is an important issue that needs to be studied and explained carefully. Numerous variables and factors have been investigated in different studies to explain the quality of life of these parents. However, the present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between attitude and resiliency with the quality of life of parents of children with special needs. Method: The present study was a descriptive correlational study. The population consisted of the parents of all children with special needs in Rasht city in 2015-2016. Among them, 110 parents (55 mothers & 55 fathers) were selected by convenience sampling. For collecting data, attitudes of parents towards their mentally retarded children (Govender, 2002), the Conner-Davidson resilience scale (Connor & Davidson, 2003) and WHOQOL-BREF (1996) were used. Finally, the data were analyzed by Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Results of the study indicated that attitude and resiliency of parents of children with special needs have a significant correlation with their quality of life; and that attitude (β = - 0.30) and resiliency (β=0/47) can significantly predict the quality of life of parents of children with special needs (p<.001). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, attitude and resiliency are among the factors affecting the quality of life of parents of children with special needs. Implications of the results have been discussed in the article.
