ديپلماسي رسانه اي به عنوان يكي از شاخه هاي ديپلماسي عمومي ابزار موثر اعمال سياست خارجي به حساب مي آيد؛ در اين ميان ايالات متحده پس از جنگ جهاني دوم بواسطه توانايي هژمونيك در صنايع فرهنگي – رسانه اي به طور گسترده اي به بسط نفوذ قدرت نرم خود در سراسر جهان از يكسو و تخريب و دشمن سازي ازايدئولوژي ها و فرهنگ هاي رقيب از جمله اسلام از سوي ديگرمبادرت نموده است. در اين نوشتار كه با بهره گيري از رويكرد توصيفي – تحليلي به رشته تحرير در آمده است و با در نظر گرفتن آنكه ديپلماسي رسانه اي ايالات متحده پس از وقوع يازده سپتامبر دچار تغييراتي در اولويت بندي هاي شناسايي مفهوم دشمن نسبت به دوره جنگ سرد گرديده، فرضيه محوري بر اين اساس است كه اين ابرقدرت در كنار بهره گيري همه جانبه از ابزار هاي قدرت سخت، پس از يازده سپتامبركوشيده است تا به موازات بكارگيري ساير حربه ها عليه جهان اسلام و كشورهاي اسلامي ساختار شكن همچون جمهوري اسلامي ايران، از هاليوود بر مبناي بازتعريف وخلق دشمني جديد در قالب هاي چون «بنيادگرايي اسلامي»، «اسلام هراسي»، «تروريسم» و «ايران هراسي» بجاي دشمن قديمي «كمونيسم» در دوره جنگ سرد استفاده نمايد

Media diplomacy as a branch of public diplomacy effective instrument of foreign policy counts; in the meantime the United States after World War II due to the ability of hegemonic cultural industries - media widely to extend the influence of soft power around the world, including the Middle East, which has received.
