بهار از پيشگامان سبك شناسي در ايران در مقدمه كتاب خود سبك را روش خاص ادراك و بيان افكار به وسيله تركيب كلمات و انتخاب الفاظ و طرز تعبير آنها مي داند. شميسا نيز در كليات سبك شناسي مفهوم سبك را بديهي مي داند و معتقد است تعريف جامع و كامل آن دشوار مي باشد. رضا رئيسي، صاحب همچون بسياري از نويسندگان ادبيات جنگ و مقاومت سبك خاصي را به » نخل و ني « رمان مستند خصوص از ديدگاه زبان و هنر داراست. از حيث زباني مي توان به كاربرد جملات كوتاه، روشن، واژگان و اصطلاحات عاميانه، افعال شكسته و حضور حال و هواي جنوبي در داستان اشاره كرد. لايه هاي فكري او را مواردي چون واقع گرايي، تكيه بر استنادهاي تاريخي جنگ در خرمشهر، بيان روابط انساني و تأكيد بر اصل واقع گرايي تشكيل مي دهد. اين جستار با روش توصيفي تحليلي در پي آن است داشته باشد. روش بررسي سبكي اين داستان رويكرد » نخل و ني « نگاهي سبك شناسانه به داستان لايه اي است كه در 3 لايه زباني، فكري و ادبي مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. پرسش اصلي تحقيق آن است كه كدام لايه سبكي و در هر لايه كدام ويژگي ها با بسامد بالاتري در اثر خودنمايي مي كنند؟ پر واضح است با پرداختن به اين ويژگي ها مي توان خوانندگان را با سير انديشه و نوع نگاه نويسنده به مقوله جنگ آشنا كرد.

It is clear that by addressing these features, readers can familiarize themselves with the way of thinking and the type of author's view of the war.
