پيكارسك(picaresque)به سبك داستاني اي اطلاق مي شود كه در قرن شانزدهم در اسپانيا شكل گرفته و از خصوصيات بارز آن ها وجود شخصيت هاي كلاش و پهلوان پنبه است. البته برخي محققان بر اين باورند كه سبك داستاني پيكارسك، به تقليد از نوع ادبي مقامه در ادبيات شرقي شكل گرفته است، آن چه ما را به انجام اين پژوهش بر انگيخت وجود تشابه در ويژگي هاي شخصيتي داستان هاي پيكارسك در ادبيات جهان بود. حال با اين مقدمه مي خواهيم بدانيم كدام ويژگي هاي شخصيتي در داستان هاي پيكارسك ايران و جهان وجود دارد كه ادعاي ما مبني بر پيكارو بودن اين شخصيت ها را به اثبات برساند. همچنين در پي آنيم تا در انتهاي پژوهش به يك دستور زبان روايي براي سبك داستاني پيكارسك، با تكيه بر ويژگي هاي مشترك پيكارسك ايراني و خارجي دست يابيم. لذا پژوهش حاضر به شيوۀ توصيفي- تحليلي و با بهره گيري از منابع كتابخانه اي به بررسي و مقايسۀ ويژگي هاي شخصيتي پيكارو در چندي از داستان هاي ايراني و خارجي مي پردازد.
