نقد و بررسي سندي و محتوايي گزاره‌ها، براي نشان‌دادن تمايز روايات معصومان (ع) از گزاره‌هاي حديث‌نما، ضرورتي انكارناپذير است. بررسي سندي و محتوايي گزارۀ «المُلكَ يَبقَي مَعَ الكُفرِ وَ لا يَبقَي مَعَ الظُّلمِ»، نشان مي‌دهد اين جمله نه‌تنها سند معتبر ندارد، كه برخي از حديث‌پژوهان انتساب آن را به معصوم (ع) انكار كرده‌اند. افزون بر اين، محتواي قابل قبولي نيز ندارد. سه مفهوم احتمالي اين گزاره: «لزوم استمرار حكومت عادل هرچند كافر باشد و سقوط حكومت ظالم هرچند مؤمن باشد»، «دلالت استمرار و اضمحلال حكومت‌ها بر عدالت و عدم عدالت آنها» و «دلالت عدالت و ستم حكومت‌ها بر حقانيت و عدم حقانيت آنها»، با آيات قرآن، روايات و شواهد تاريخي ناسازگار است. البته اگر منظور از آن، تأكيد بر اهميت يك عامل از ميان مجموعه عوامل دخيل در استمرار و اضمحلال حكومت‌ها باشد، قابل پذيرش و همسو با قرآن، روايات و شواهد تاريخي است.

Additionally, it does not have an acceptable content. Three possible concepts of this proposition: the necessity of the continuation of a just government and the fall of the ruthless government, the signification of continuity and collapse of governments for their justice and injustice and the implication of justice and oppression by governments for their legitimacy and lack of legitimacy, are incompatible with Quranic verses, narrations and historical evidence.
