ساختار بازار تاريخي تبريز به لحاظ دارا بودن گذرهاي كم عرض و عدم امكان تعريض مسيرها، به لحاظ ساختار تاريخي موجود، ديگر پاسخگوي تردد و حمل ونقل كالا نيست. بنابراين هدف اصلي از اين تحقيق، ساماندهي حمل ونقل كالا در بازار تاريخي تبريز است به طوريكه به ساختار تاريخي بازار نيز آسيب نرساند. روش انجام اين تحقيق از نوع توصيفي و از نظر هدف كاربردي هست. اطلاعات لازم براي تحقيق حاضر از مصاحبه با خبرگان و پرسش نامه جمع آوري شد. پرسش نامه ها توسط كسبه و مغازه دارها، افراد فعال در امور حمل و نقل در بازار، جمعيت مراجعه كننده به بازار و مصاحبه با صاحب نظران تكميل شد. داده ها توسط نرم افزار SPSS16 با استفاده از آزمون آماري شامل آمار توصيفي، آمار استنباطي، آزمون كولموگرف - اسميرنوف (K- S) تجزيه و تحليل شد. مهمترين نتايج حاصل از تحقيق بيانگر اين هست كه با اختصاص ساعاتي خاص (صبح زود و نزديك هاي ظهر) جهت امر حمل ونقل كالا، محدوديت ترافيكي براي وانت بارها براي بارگيري و تخليه بار در ورودي هاي اطراف بازار، استقرار كيوسك نگهباني در ورودي هاي بازار براي كنترل عبور و مرور باربرها، استفاده از لباس فرم براي باربرها و تغييرات در فرم ساختاري گاري هاي سنتي، توپ دار كردن جنس لاستيك گاري ها و موتوردار كردن آن ها، برخورد با سد معبر كنندگان، استقرار دفتري در بازار كه عهده دار امورات حمل ونقلي بازار باشد و نيز استفاده از كاروانسراها به عنوان بارانداز، مي تواند در بهبود ساماندهي حمل ونقل كالا در بازار تاريخي تبريز، موثر واقع گردد.
