بدن و ماديت بيماري: باستان‌شناسي يك تجربۀ نامكشوف

Body and the Materiality of Illness: Archaeology of an Unknown experience

از زمان تولد بشر، بيماري به عنوان بخشي مهم از زيست بدن­‌ها حضوري فعال در زندگي داشته است. بدن بستر بيماري و بيماري حياتي ا­ست كه بدن در برهه­‌هايي متفاوت از زندگي آن را شكل داده و تجربه مي­‌كند. تجربه‌­اي كه لزوماً تجربۀ فرد و زندگي نيست. اما به راستي بيماري چيست و از چه ماهيتي برخوردار است؟ براي دست­يابي به دركي كيفي از بيماري و تلاش براي فهم و شناخت چيستي آن، در مقالۀ پيش رو يك بيمار سرطاني با استفاده از روش­‌هاي متفاوت اما منسجم پژوهش­‌هاي كيفي شامل مشاهده، گفتگو و بررسي اسناد و مدارك مادي، مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. در اين بررسي ما كوشيديم تا از تعاريف رايج سلامتي در مقابل بيماري و تجربۀ درد و رنج به عنوان مصاديق بيماري گذشته و از منظر حضور عيني (ابژكتيو) بيماري و نشانه‌­هاي مادي آن و معاني كه در بيرون بدن و بستر فرهنگي از خويش برمي‌سازد به شناختي از بيماري دست يابيم. در اين زمينه بررسي ابعاد مادي پديدۀ بيماري به روش علم پزشكي محوريت داشته است. بررسي­‌هاي موجود نشان داد علي­رغم تصور موجود در باب درك ماهيت بيماري از وراي تجربۀ زيسته در انسان­‌شناسي، بيماري فراتر از تجربه و درك بيمار،خود ماهيتي مستقل دارد كه الزاماً در چهارچوب سلامتي و زندگي سلامت­ گونه قابل شناخت نيست، بلكه از منظر مرگ و در بستر آن است كه بيماري ماهيت مي‌­يابد و حيات آن از قيد وابستگي به حيات بدن جدا مي­‌شود.

Since the first man appeared on Earth, illness -as a significant part of bio-bodies has played a key role in life. As the host, the body forms and experiences the existent illness through different periods of life. Though it is not necessarily experienced by the person or the life itself. Yet what is the illness? an‎d what is its nature? For a qualitative understanding of illness and its nature, a cancer patient was studied in the present article, employing different but coherent methods of qualitative research including observation, interview, and the examination of material documents. We attempted to comprehend the illness using common definitions of health in contrast to the illness and experience of pain as evidence of the past illness from the prospect of objective presence of the illness and its material signs. The material aspects of the phenomenon of illness were studied as it is performed in medicine. The studies indicate that despite the notion about understanding the nature of illness through lived experience in anthropology, its nature is independent which is not necessarily in the framework of health and a nearly healthy life; But the nature of illness is formed from the view of death and its existence is separated from the existence of the body.
