The Representation of Myths in the Novel Playing Chess with the Resurrection Machine

رمان شطرنج با ماشين قيامت يكي از برجسته‌ترين آثار داستاني دفاع مقدس است كه از لحاظ صوري و محتوايي اثري ارزنده به­شمار مي‌رود. علت تعالي ادبي و ممتاز بودن اين اثر در بين رمان‌هاي همسو با گفتمان جنگ، بهره‌گيري هنرمندانه از اسطوره براي تقويت ظرفيت تفسيرپذيري و افزايش دلالت‌هاي معنايي رمان است. در اين اثر برخي از دغدغه‌هاي هميشگي بشر مانند تقابل خير و شر، رنج انسان‌ها و تسلط تقدير به­كمك بازآفريني هنرمندانۀ اسطوره‌هاي هبوط انسان، اسطورۀ مرگ عيسي (ع) و اسطورۀ درگيري پهلوان و اژدها بازتاب داده شده است. به­نظر مي‌رسد برخي نمادهاي اسطوره‌اي، خودآگاه و حسابگرانه به داستان وارد شده‌ و برخي نمادها هم به­شكلي ناخودآگاه بر بستر روايت رمان نشسته‌اند. آنچه تمام اين نمادهاي اسطوره‌اي را در وحدتي هماهنگ گرد آورده، بازتاب مفهوم اصالت مبارزۀ آدمي عليه جبهۀ شر در برابر موضع انفعالي، به­ منزلۀ درون‌مايۀ داستان است. از اين گذشته بهره‌گيري از نمادهاي اسطوره‌اي ظرفيت‌ تفسيرپذيري اثر را افزايش داده و برداشت‌هاي مختلف شخصيت‌هاي داستاني از برخي عناصر نمادين اسطوره‌اي سبب ظهور چندصدايي در رمان شده و آن را از حالت خشك و تك‌ساحتي رمان‌هاي پيشين جنگ رها ساخته است. نگارنده در اين پژوهش روش نقد اسطوره‌اي را مبتني بر آراء يونگ و الياده براي تحليل و تفسير شخصيت‌ها، روايات و ساير عناصر اسطوره‌اي بازتاب ­يافته در اين رمان به­ كار برده‌ تا هم قابليت‌هاي دلالت‌پردازانۀ آن­ها را آشكار كند و هم تأثير برخي از آن­ها را در تقويت چندصدايي رمان روشن سازد.

Playing Chess with the Resurrection Machine is one of the eminent stories on the holy defense (Iran-Iraq war), which carries much structural and conceptual significance. Its literary significance among the novels in line with the discourse of war is due to its artistic use of myths to increase the interpretability and layers of meaning in the novel. In this novel, some of the constant issues of human beings such as good and bad, human suffering, and the control of destiny have been represented through recreating the myth of the fall of man, Jesus's death, and the fight between the hero and the dragon. It seems that some of the mythological symbols are embedded consciously and purposefully, while some others are involved subconsciously in the narrative. What brings all of the symbolic myths together is the human's fight against bad as opposed to being passive in the theme of the story. Moreover, the use of symbolic myths has increased the novel's interpretability. The interpretation of the characters regarding some of the symbolic myths has brought about a contrapuntal feature to the novel and has made a change in comparison with the previous routine war novels. The study borrows the method of critical mythology from Jung and Eliade in order to analyze and interpret characters, narratives, and other components of the myths represented in the novel, so that its explanatory and contrapuntal powers increase.
