خصوصيات ظاهري و رفتاري پزشك از ديدگاه طب سنتي ايران

Physical and Behavioral Characteristics of Physicians from the Perspective of Traditional Iranian Medicine

زمينه و هدف: حكماي طب سنتي ايران، رعايت اخلاق را براي طبيب ضروري مي دانستند و اين موضوع نه تنها در آثار و مكتوبات آن ها، بلكه در سيره ي آنان نيز منعكس بوده است. ايشان براي پزشك، نه تنها از لحاظ سجاياي اخلاقي، بلكه حتي از نظر خصوصيات و صفات ظاهري نيز مشخصاتي قائل بودند. هدف اين مطالعه، بررسي خصوصيات ظاهري پزشك، از ديدگاه حكماي طب سنتي ايران مي باشد. روش بررسي: مطالعه ي حاضر، پژوهشي مروري است كه در آن، با بررسي متون و مقالاتِ طب سنتي ايران، صفات ظاهري پزشكِ خوب را كه حكماي طب سنتي ايران به آ نها پرداخته و لازم دانسته اند، مطالعه كرده ايم. يافته ها: در تمدن ايران، قبل و به خصوص پس از اسلام، توجه خاصي به خصوصيات و ويژگي هاي طبيب شده است و علاوه بر برخورداري از دانش كافي، دارابودن سجاياي اخلاقي، همچنين ظاهر، پوشش و رفتار و منش مناسب مورد توجه بوده است. حكما توصيه هاي فراوان وگاهي با ذكر جزئيات در مورد شرايط حضور بر بالين بيمار، نحوه ي گفتار، آراستگي، نوع و كيفيت لباس، بهداشت ظاهري و فردي، چگونگي ابراز احساسات و نحوه ي تعامل با بيمار و اطرافيان و حتي عادات شخصي همچون خواب، خوراك، اوقات فراغت و ... بيان نموده اند. نتيجه گيري: بنابر منابع طب سنتي ايراني- اسلامي و نظر حكما به نظر مي رسد اهميت رفتار، گفتار و ظاهر مناسب طبيب كمتر از صلاحيت هاي علمي او نبوده است.

Background and objective: Great physicians of traditional Iranian medicine believed that it is essential for a physician to know medical ethics. They paid special attention to ethics not only in their manuscripts but also in their practice. They even specified many characteristics which are desirable and necessary for physicians. The purpose of this research was to study the apparent characteristics necessary for physicians, from the perspective of traditional Iranian medicine (Persian medicine). Methods: This study is a review article, which has overviewed traditional Iranian medicine literature and textbooks, to find the suggestions about the physical characteristics that are essential for physicians. Results: In Iranian civilization, both before and after Islam, special attention has been paid to physicians’ characteristics as well as their knowledge and morality. Having desirable appearance, clothing and good manners have been recommended. Traditional Iranian physicians have expressed great advices with details about the condition of the patients’ bedside, manner of speech, and the type and quality of clothing, appearance and personal hygiene, how to express feelings, how to interact with patients and their family and even personal habits such as sleep, food and leisure. Conclusion: According to the texts of traditional Iranian medicine it seems behavioral characteristics of physicians are as importance as their knowledge.
